Black Tea

Best Enjoyed

If you’re a purist at heart, take your Australian Cuppa as it comes from the pot and revel in the beautifully balanced black tea flavour. For the true Aussie experience, add a dash of milk or a slice of lemon. Either way, sugar or your favourite sweetener will heighten the flavour.

Best Served

In your finest china if you’re in the mood to relive the good old days with family and friends. In the colder months, a mug you can wrap your hands around will instantly conjure those cosy vibes we all crave. Be sure to keep the teapot warm with a sweet tea cosy.

Pairs With

Enjoy your Australian Cuppa on its own to savour its unique flavour, or take the traditional route and break out the bickie tin. Aussie favourites include ANZAC biscuits (a sweet and crunchy bickie made from rolled oats, flour, golden syrup, and desiccated coconut), chocolate chip bickies, melting moments (crunchy, shortbread-like biscuits covered in rolled oats), jam drops (buttery biscuits with a jam centre) or shortbread. Aussie tea time may also be accompanied by scones with cream and jam, hot cross buns, lamingtons (mini coconut-covered sponge cakes), Swiss rolls, or sticky date pudding.

Tea Time

Take a look at the nearest clock and we can guarantee, whatever time you see, it’s perfect for this tea! Tea time arrives downunder whenever the mood strikes, but evenings are only for those who love a late-night caffeine buzz.

Boil freshly drawn ambient water in a teakettle to 100°C;. Warm a ceramic teapot by rinsing with the hot water. Add 1 tsp of tea per cup to the teapot and 1 for the pot. Pour in the hot water. Cover the teapot with a knitted tea cosy to keep warm. Steep covered for 3 – 5 min. Turn the teapot 3 times clockwise, 3 times anticlockwise and a final time clockwise to enhance the brew.
